The Wandering Cabin, a Beautiful DIY Tiny House on Wheels

Tiny House Living in a Colorado Mountain Community

Meet Ryan. He and his wife built a gorgeous 30’ tiny house, The Wandering Cabin. They wanted to create more flexibility to adventure and to enjoy the simple life together. It has room to grow as their family does, with a loft for their on-the-way baby.

Their tiny home is cozy and open, featuring a full-size bathtub, vintage style fridge and beautiful folding table with folding bench. Sometimes in tiny house design people overlook a space for a table. Personally, I can’t imagine not having a table space for dining and office work. In this DIY build, Ryan created a beautifully space-efficient fold-down able and fold-down bench. It seats 2-3. Both stow away neatly on wall when they want easier access to stair storage and washer/dryer.

Ryan had a mill create 1.25” thick custom log siding. We just love the rugged look! Perfect for his mountain town parking spot. He is the property manager of Tiny House Leadville, a tiny home community in downtown Leadville, CO. It’s a charming historic mountain town with incredible access to nature. We fell in love with the place during our stay, and might go back in the future. Watch episode 1 of Today’s Tiny House Parking Spot below to see more about what makes Leadville so great.

Good news! Tiny House Leadville offers long-term THOW parking spots.
